INTRODUCTION
The South Beach Wine & Food Festival, presented by Food & Wine magazine, celebrated it's fifth anniversary of South Florida’s premier culinary extravaganza.
Some of the planet’s greatest chefs, winemakers, spirits producers, culinary personalities and others entertain in high style - as well as answer questions
and impart their secrets. The festival organizers contacted Just Born, the makers of PEEPS, and asked them to participate on the festival. I was in turn contacted by Just Born
and asked to create a sculpture for the event. We participated in the two events listed below.
"SOBE Food & Wine Festival Grand Tasting Village". The hottest ticket in town for one of the coolest spots on South Beach: the Grand Tasting Village. A myriad of activities competes for attention. Chefs and culinary personalities share recipes and techniques, while at every turn the tastes of the good life flow freely. There are cooking demos and samplings of delicious offerings from your favorite restaurants and wine and spirits producers. "Sweet Deco-dence celebrating 5 Sweet Years Of The South Beach Wine & Food Festival". Mix and mingle with your favorite celebrity chefs and culinary personalities at the greatest dessert party of all times. Celebrating five sweet years as the nation's largest and most lavish wine and food event. It is a heavenly extravaganza. It all came to a calorie crescendo when the huge and fittingly glamorous birthday cake's candles were blown out by the Festival's assembled cast of celebrity chefs, culinary personalities, wine-makers and oenophiles. | |

The Marshmallow PEEPS booth consisted of two chocolate fountains: one white-chocolate and one milk-chocolate. It was a windy day at the beach, so we had to prodect the fountains from wind gusts. PEEPS were skewered and then dipped into the chocolate ... YUM! I created a PEEPS palm treet for the event. The 7-foot tall tree had green holographic leaves with green rope lighting and white lighting up the trunk. I glued pink PEEPS to the leaves and lined the trunk with blue PEEPS. It was a crowd pleaser!
