Introduced in 2007.
In case you missed them, three new PEEPS products | ||||
| ||||
Made by Just Born®, Inc. ... there are no substitutes.
Munch them soft -- right out of the package.
Or better yet still, months later when rock solid.
Indestructible blobs of sugary goodness.
Put them in the microwave and watch them grow !
Drop them into hot chocolate and watch them melt !
Squish them flat and watch them spring back to life !
Did you know that over 1 billion individual PEEPS are born each year ?
How are they made into those shapes?
How is the coloured sugar applied evenly on all sides?
How does the sugar get coloured?
When do fresh born PEEPS first open their eyes?
PEEPS are simply...
SUGAR YUMMY SWEET YUMMY SUGAR
PEEPy Facts:
1 PEEP contains 32 calories and 0 grams of fat.
Yellow PEEPS are the most popular, followed by pink, lavender, blue and white.
PEEPS went wing-free in 1991.
PEEP eyes are actually made of wax and are sprayed on by machine.
The first PEEPS were produced in 1953 and it took 27 hours to create just one PEEP.
Today, PEEPS are produced at the rate of 4.2 MILLION per day. WOW !
PEEPS shelf life: 24 months (that's 2 years!).
The original PEEPs Chicks colors were YELLOW and PINK.
Then came WHITE.
A new color was introduced in 1997 ... LAVENDER.
In 1998 ... BLUE.
In 2003, ORANGE Creepy PEEPS could be found around Halloween.
Christmas 2003 brought us RED Christmas PEEPS.
Now, in 2007, GREEN Spring PEEPS are introduced!
But watch out !
Those are not the only colors you can find them in ... not around me anyway.
Out comes the fluorescent spray paint and presto ...
psychedelic colors that were never intended for foodstuffs.
But who said I follow the rules?
The following pages are just a taste of the types of peepy concoctions I've created.
I love mixing and contrasting colours.
You should see them glow under a black light!
I've created works in sizes ranging from 3"x5" to 24"x48".
I've done all color combinations ... on black as well as coloured backgrounds.
Rows and rows and rows and rows.
Circular patterns.
An American Flag.
PEEPS in a coop.
A PEEPS covered palm tree.
A PEEPS Shrine, which measured 8-feet tall and 5-feet wide!
And not only are PEEPS made for Easter,
but that marshmallow goodness is pumped into various shapes
and coated in coloured sugars for almost every holiday season.
